Football Manager 2011 Patch

While Football Manager 2011 provided gamers with hours of entertainment (and still does if you haven't upgraded to newer editions), it wasn't without its share of bugs and glitches.

Thankfully, Sports Interactive has released a patch designed to iron out any issues as well as update the game to include transfers that took place in the January 2011 (Torres to Chelsea, Carroll to Liverpool etc) transfer window.

Released on Windows and Mac OS X in October 2010, the game allows players to manage their favourite soccer teams to title glory by selecting line-ups, negotiating transfers and discover the stars of tomorrow by setting up their own scouting network. You can even build new stadiums and obtain sponsorship deals if you want things to be really intense.

But some players found that the sim would sometimes freeze or crash midway through a match. The patch makes things run smoothly and should prevent users from pulling their hair out in frustration.

In total, the patch is made up of three parts. Version 11.1.0 updates the ownership of Liverpool and alters its budget accordingly, while also deducting points from Dundee FC. Version 11.1.1 improves the match engine and fixes a number of bugs, while version 11.3.0 updates teams to include January transfers, fixes five types of crashes, makes more than 20 gameplay alterations, and improves the interface.

In order for the patch to be applied, it merely needs to be downloaded and installed before clicking Update to begin the process. Its file size is only around 195kb so it does not take up much space on your hard drive and downloads quickly even if you do not have the fastest internet connection.
